We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Construction Site Assistant to work with Jackson Jackson & Sons and become part of their growing team.

Jackson Jackson & Sons are a chartered building company with 25 years of experience in the education, housing, health, commercial and industrial sectors. They undertake refurbishment, (including listed buildings), design and construction work across the North West and Yorkshire. Jackson Jackson invest heavily in training and people development, and creating opportunities for people living locally to our projects. They are experts in working with their clients to combine construction contracting with the achievement of sustainable communities.

Relevant information about the project

As an apprentice you will learn how to undertake the following day to day tasks:-
• Support the coordination of construction site-based projects alongside supervisory and technical teams on an individual site, a range of sites or in an office environment.
• Identify the suitability of health and safety documentation, including risk assessments and method statements, to assist in ensuring sufficient planning has been carried out for tasks to be completed safely.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the requirements of a project are met, ensuring records of the communications are kept in line with company processes.
• Ensure accurate contractual records are kept in relation to the planning of construction projects.
• Support the production of resource lists, based on estimates, using technical drawings to identify the requirements of the project.
• Assist with the development of tenders relevant to the construction project, ensuring records of tenders are kept and processed within the required timescales.
• Support the procurement of project materials, plant, and sub-contractors.
• Support the progress of construction projects, recommending and proposing revisions of programmes and assisting with the planning of schedules of work.
• Support the implementation of appropriate contract quantities and cost monitoring systems to provide early warning of problems for all contract phases on site.
• Use surveying information to contribute to the measurement, evaluation, and review of project performance.

• Willing to work towards L3 qualification.
• Ability to undertake any necessary travel in connection with the duties of this post
• Aspire to learn to drive and own their own vehicle
• Expectation to achieve full driving licence and acquire own vehicle, if not already achieved
• Ability to work on own initiative as an individual or as a team member.
• Contribute to the development of good working relationships within the team

Qualifications Required

• 5 x GCSE’s grades A-C / 5-9 including Maths, English and Science or their equivalent.

Relevant information about the site

The successful applicant will work towards a Level 3 Construction Support Technician Qualification, which will take 24 months (plus end point assessment) and will be through T3 College.


40 Hours Per Week.
Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30 (30 minutes for lunch)

£273 per week (This is made up of the National Apprentice wage plus £17 travel allowance)
