Apprentice Electrical Design Engineer

What will the apprentice be doing on site

As an Apprentice Electrical Design Engineer, you will learn how to design electrical power systems using Industry software.

You will develop your skills and knowledge by:

• Designing lighting systems using industry software
• Assisting in producing detailed design drawings for electrical services (lighting/power/data/fire alarms/security systems)
• Learning to use AutoCAD software for designs
• Learning to use Revit software for designs
• Using Microsoft packages
• Learning to use industry specialist design software such as Relux/Amtech

Relevant information about the project

The successful candidate will work towards a Level 3 Building Services Engineering Technician Qualification, which will take 36 months and will be delivered by Hartlepool College.

37.5 Hours Per Week
Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00
£317 Per Week (This is made up of the Apprenticeship Wage plus £17 travel allowance)

Essential qualities

• Demonstrate a keen interest in AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design)
• Have an enthusiastic manner
• Have a desire to work in the construction industry
• Have good attention to detail to ensure accuracy
• Have a good level of maths and analytical skills
• Have effective communication skills both verbal and written
• Can use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Qualifications Required

GCSE's Grade 5-9 in Maths, English and Science
