Relevant information about the project

As an Apprentice Electrical Design Engineer you will learn how to design electrical power systems using Industry software.

You will develop your skills and knowledge by:

• Designing lighting systems using industry software
• Assisting in producing detailed design drawings for electrical services (lighting/power/data/fire alarms/security systems)
• Learning to use AutoCAD software for designs
• Learning to use Revit software for designs
• Using Microsoft packages
• Learning to use industry specialist design software such as Relux/Amtech

Essential qualities

• Demonstrate a keen interest in AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design)
• Have an enthusiastic manner
• Have a desire to work in the construction industry
• Have a good attention to detail to ensure accuracy
• Have a good level of Maths and analytical skills
• Have effective communication skills both verbal and written
• Have the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Qualifications Required

5 x GCSE’s grades A-C / 5-9 including Maths at grade B/6 or above, English and Science (or equivalent)

Will be working towards - Apprenticeship Title/Qualification and Duration:

• Level 3 Building Services Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard
• Duration 36 months plus 3 months End Point Assessment
• College day release – Leeds College of Building



HOURS AND WAGE
8:30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday

£257 Per Week (This is made up of the National Apprenticeship Wage plus £17 weekly travel allowance)
