What will the apprentice be doing on site

EN:Able Futures, an award winning apprenticeship employer have partnered with The Civil & Structural Engineering Team of Alan Wood & Partners in Lincoln who are currently recruiting an Apprentice to support the daily needs of projects within the team. Following a thorough induction, the successful candidate will embark on an exciting 2 year programme where you will be exposed to a variety of disciplines and learn how to use a range of Autodesk products fluently, prepare calculations and become an integral part of the team.

Depending on your current level of education, we will support you through college day release. Initially you will be employed through our training partner EN:Able Futures for a two year period. We will also support your professional development; you will join the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) as a student member and your studies, along with the wealth of experience that we offer you, will potentially culminate in you becoming a Technician member of the ICE.

As an Apprentice you will gain skills and knowledge in:

* Producing CAD drawings
* Preparing simple calculations
* Supporting the administration of projects
* Ensuring outputs meet the required standards
* Meeting agreed deadlines
* Maintaining drawing register
* Working as a member of a team
* Contributing to providing solutions to problems
* Working both in an office environment and on-site visits

Essential qualities

Good communication skills (verbal and written), numeracy and IT skills are all important, as is the ability to work as part of a team while also having plenty of your own initiative. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail and a desire to come up with practical solutions will also stand you in good stead.

Driving license and own transport is also essential for this role.

Qualifications Required

5 x GCSE’s grades A-C / 5-9 including Maths at Grade B/6 or above, English and Science

Qualification working towards Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician

College duration 24 months (college day release at East Riding College)

8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday

Salary:
£215/week (this is made up of National Apprenticeship Wage plus weekly £17 travel allowance)
