What will the apprentice be doing on site

EN:Able Futures, an award-winning apprenticeship employer, have partnered with Target Housing, a charity and social landlord, who are offering a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Joiner to join their team as an apprentice, and to gain valuable knowledge and skills whilst working in their housing properties.

Relevant information about the project

As an Apprentice Joiner, you will enhance your skills and knowledge in:

• A mix of 1st and 2nd fix joinery
• Measuring, marking out, fitting, cutting, splicing, finishing, positioning and securing of timber
• Installation of window frames, doors, joists, trusses, roof with gables, roof verges and eaves, including roof components
• Using appropriate hand and power tools
• Maintaining high levels of health and safety at all times, ensuring regulations are adhered to
• Maintain a clear and tidy workspace and ensure that waste materials are disposed of, in accordance with current legislation

• Demonstrate a desire to work within the construction industry
•Have a keen and enthusiastic manner
• Have a good attention to detail to ensure accuracy
• Have a good level of Maths and analytical skills
• Be a team player
• An understanding that work could be both inside and outside of a customers home
• Develop trust with customers and colleagues by undertaking responsibilities in an ethical and empathetic manner

Essential for this role:
• The ability to work at heights
• The willingness to gain a CSCS card prior to commencement (This is paid for)

Qualifications Required

3x GCSE's Grade 4-9 (A*-C) in English, Maths and Science

Relevant information about the site

The successful candidate will work towards a Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery qualification, which will take 24 months, plus an End Point Assessment

Monday to Friday 08:00 - 15:30
£222.92 Per Week (This is made up of the National Apprenticeship wage plus £17 weekly travel allowance)
